I know nothing about D&D but the fact they didn't do a bunch of cuts in the first fight scene is very impressive. I'll definitely watch this.
The only thing this is missing is one of the characters dying, and then being replaced by a new character, played by the same actor.
Probably gonna be entertaining, but real tired of this marketing obsession to show a glimpse of every major sequence & finale.

I don't know anything about D&D outside of Stranger Things. It has never appealed to me. I couldn't care less about it. But this movie looks like tons of fun and I'm going to take my kids to see it.

Americans in medieval settings, even if fantasy, just doesn't gel. It always comes out as 'slapstick'. Perhaps because Americans didn't exist in medieval times. Apart from Native Americans. That would be cool.

I just want to point out to the people talking about the OGL here that this film involved a lot of actors, stunt people, fx artists, set designers, wardrobe designers, technicians, camera operators, etc. who have nothing to do with that. Those people deserve to be supported if they made an entertaining film (which remains to be seen). Don't let your anger at WOTC make them suffer.
